Second Week Begins for Australian Open

The second week of the Australian Open is underway and that means less matches each day. For example, this evening's schedule, based on U.S. time, features just four matches with seeded players participating.

The highest seed in action is men's No. 2 Novak Djokovic (NOH'-vak JOH'-kuh-vich), who is squaring off with No. 8 Stanislas Wawrinka (vah-VINK'-ah). In other men's play, third-seed David Ferrer (feh-REHR') is playing No. 7 Tomas Berdych (TOH'-mahs bur-DEEK').

For the women, fourth-seed Li Na (lee nah) leads the way with a match against 28th-seed Flavia Pennetta (FLAH'-vee-uh pehn-EHT'-uh), while 14th-seed Ana Ivanovic (ee-VAH'-noh-vich) is playing No. 30 Eugenia Bouchard.
