Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire that destroyed a bus carrying a northeastern Colorado high school football team but caused no injuries.

The Sterling Journal-Advocate reports the school bus caught fire Saturday while transporting a team from Caliche Junior/Senior High School in Iliff to a game in Greeley.

Everyone aboard got off safely. All the team's equipment was saved except some radios and video gear.

The bus was about 20 miles east of Greeley on U.S. 34 when it caught fire.

Players' parents and others following the bus transported the team to the game against Greeley's Dayspring Christian Academy in Class 1A eight-man football.

Dayspring won, 33-20.
