A Colorado Springs high school soccer coach says one of his players who is from the African nation of Ivory Coast was taunted with racial slurs and other insults by members of another team.

Pine Creek High School coach Ben Corely tells the Colorado Springs Gazette players from Aurora's Smoky Hill High School made the comments during a game on Nov. 1.

The Gazette reported Friday that Corley didn't know who the players were. He says he reported the comments to Smoky Hill coach Kersten Mullan.

Mullan says Smoky Hill is dealing with the allegations internally.

The Colorado High School Activities Association, which oversees high school athletics in the state, says a Pine Creek player mentioned the alleged comments to a referee, who cautioned several Smoky Hill players.
