The Associated Press has released this week’s Colorado high school football poll for the week of September 29, with the most noticeable changes coming in Class 4A.

In Class 5A, the top five teams are the same as last week, with the only change being the No. 2 and 3 seeds. Valor Christian remains on top, while Grandview and Pomona swapping places. Grandview moved up to No. 2 and Pomona dropped to No. 3. Fairview and Ralston Valley remain at No. 4 and 5, respectively.

Class 4A showed the most noticeable changes from last week, with only two teams remaining the same in the top five – Pine Creek at No. 1 and Montrose at No. 3. No. 2 goes to Fort Collins while Windsor rose to No. 4. Denver South has the biggest rise of all the Class 4A teams, going from No. 9 to No. 5. Pueblo South had the biggest drop, going from No. 2 to No. 7.

In Class 3A, Lutheran remains the top team while Discovery Canyon rose to the No. 2 spot. Delta – who was last week’s No. 2 team – dropped to No. 6 this week. Rifle rose a spot to No. 3, and Glenwood Springs tied with Conifer for No. 10. Palisade received some votes this week, but did not make it into the top 10.

In Class 2A, Brush, Kent Denver and Strasburg remain the top three teams. Gunnison broke into the top ten this week at No. 9. Olathe – who was last week’s No. 9 team – did receive some votes this week, but not enough to enter the top 10.

In Class 1A, Paonia, Buena Vista and Resurrection Christian remain as the top three teams, Burlington rose to No. 4 and Meeker rose three spots to No. 5. Cedaredge – who was last week’s No. 4 team – dropped to No. 9.

In Class 8-Man, Dayspring Christian and Norwood remain the top two teams. Springfield rose to No. 3, while Akron and Caliche tied for No. 4.

And in Class 6-Man, Arickaree Woodlin rose to the top spot, while last week’s No. 1 team, Eads, dropped to No. 2. Peetz rose a spot to No. 3.
