The Associated Press has released its weekly poll for Colorado high school football, and this week sees very few (if any) changes in the rankings.

In Class 5A, the top six teams remain the same as last week, starting with Valor Christian at top, followed by Grandview, Pomona, Fairview, Ralston Valley and Regis Jesuit.

In Class 4A, the top three teams – Pine Creek, Fort Collins and Montrose – remain the top three this week. Greeley West and Denver South switch places from last week, with Greeley West moving up to No. 4 and Denver South slipping to No. 5.

In Class 3A, Rifle has the biggest fall after Friday’s 18-10 loss to Palisade. Rifle dropped from the No. 3 position to No. 6, while Palisade entered the top 10 at No. 9. Lutheran and Discovery Canyon remain the top two teams, while Evergreen rose to No. 3. Delta comes in No. 4. Glenwood Springs and Eagle Valley both received votes this week, but neither team made it into the top ten.

In Class 2A, Brush, Kent Denver and Strasburg remain the top three teams. Lamar rose to No. 4, and Gunnison rose three places to the No. 5 position. Cortez also rose in the Class 2A standings, going from No. 10 to No. 8.

In Class 1A, the top seven teams remain the same as last week, with Paonia on top, followed by Buena Vista, Resurrection Christian, Limon, Meeker, Platte Canyon and Rye. Cedaredge received votes this week, but did not make it into the top ten.

Class 8 Man and Class 6 Man saw no change in the standings for the top four teams.

The top four teams for Class 8 Man are Dayspring Christian, Norwood, Springfield, and Caliche. The top teams for Class 6 Man are Arickaree Woodlin, Eads, Peetz and Fleming.
