More Colorado Avalanche players will be on the ice at the Sochi Olympics.

The Swedish Olympic team announced yesterday that Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog will compete for his native country in the upcoming games. Goaltender Semyon Varlamov (var-LAH'-mawf) was also named to the Russian team for the second time and center Matt Duchene (DOO'-shayn) will play on the Canadian team.

Varlamov will compete with Sergei Bobrovsky of the Columbus Blue Jackets and Alexander Yeryomenko of the KHL's Dinamo Moscow to be the goalie for the Russian team.

Last week, center Paul Stastny was invited to represent the United States at the Olympics for the second time.
