The U.S. men's hockey team has its hands full today with a game against Canada in the semifinals. The game comes one day after Team Canada came from behind to edge the American squad in the women's gold medal game.

Ted Ligety (LIHG'-eh-tee) has won the giant slalom at the Sochi Games with a dominating performance today, becoming the first American man to win two Olympic gold medals in Alpine skiing. Steve Missillier of France finished second and Alexis Pinturault, also of France, was third.

Alex Deibold (DEE'-bohld) of Manchester, Vt., won the bronze medal in men's snowboard cross, giving the U.S. 19 medals in the Sochi Olympics. The race took place in slushy, soggy conditions. The winner was France's Pierre Vaultier with Russia's Nikolay Olyunin second.

The U.S. women's hockey team has advanced to the gold medal game at the Sochi Olympics with a 6-1 semifinal win over Sweden. The Americans peppered the Swiss goal with 70 shots, one shy of the women's Olympic record of 71 as set by the U.S. against China in 2002.
