Loveland Ski Area is set to become the second resort in Colorado to open for the winter season.

Despite unseasonably warm weather, resort officials say they will have enough snow for opening day Saturday. The first chair up the mountain is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.

Nearby Arapahoe Basin kicked off Colorado's ski season when it opened Oct. 17. It was the third straight year that A-Basin won the race with Loveland to be the first resort in the state to open.

Warm weather forced Keystone and Copper Mountain to postpone their openings, which had been set for Halloween. Keystone has not announced a new opening day, but Copper is set to open Nov. 7.
