It isn't exactly the magic of Christmas, but there are two stellar celestial events happening tonight and into the early morning hours tomorrow, (December 13-14) but will Colorado miss them?

Whether some or all Coloradoans see the final Supermoon of 2016 and the Geminid meteor shower depends on the weather. Even with mostly cloudy skies forecast for many areas across the state, there's still a decent chance to see the Supermoon, if only occasionally.

As for the Geminid meteor shower, the combination of the clouds and the brightness of the Supermoon may prevent people from getting an ideal look at up to 100 meteors per hour which cross the sky in many directions.

The best time to see both the December Supermoon and the Geminid meteor shower is in the early morning before dawn on Wednesday.
