So we still have a few weeks of summer remaining, but we couldn't help but wonder what this year's western Colorado weather will be like so as always we consult the weather experts at the Farmers Almanac.

There are three things in life that are extremely difficult to predict:

  • When are we going to die?
  • Who is going to win the Super Bowl?
  • What's the weather going to be like 4 months from now?

As difficult as it may be to be accurate, the Farmers Almanac never lets us down in terms of giving us something to looking forward to in the months ahead or something to dread.

So, for what it's worth, the Farmers Almanac says western Colorado can expect a cold but not harsh winter with moderate snowfall.

To me, it sounds like a typical winter on the western slope. Of course, it's going to be cold in January and February. Of course, we will have snow, but probably not a lot. And,  unless we get an inversion, which we are probably due for, it's not going to be particularly harsh.

Only time will tell if the Farmers Almanac prediction is right, but, by then, we'll probably all have forgotten what the prediction was to begin with.
