A mom in Western Colorado will spend the rest of her life in prison for killing her two daughters. The girls were found dead on a farm in Norwood in 2017.

10-year-old Makayla Roberts and 8-year-old Hannah Marshall were found dead on a farm in Western Colorado in 2017. The farm is in Norwood, Colorado in San Miguel County, near the Montrose County line. Their bodies were found about two weeks after they passed after authorities received a tip about their deaths.

Although Nakisha was spotted hitchhiking during the homicide investigation, now she's been charged. The girls' mother, Nakisha Bramble, has been sentenced to two consecutive life terms for their murders, according to the Montrose Daily Press. The Western Colorado mom allegedly belonged to a religious sect, whose leader is Madani Ceus.

Madani made both children get into a car on the property for days with no access to food or water, which is ultimately what caused their deaths. The sisters passed away from starvation and dehydrating, according to the autopsy.

Their mother only thought of herself and did nothing to stop this, which District Judge Keri Yoder called monstrous and disgusting. The mom tried to blame demonic possession and also stated that their deaths were not her choice.

Nakisha will spend the rest of her life in prison, she was sentenced to two life sentences without parole. The Western Colorado mom's defense team is placing all blame on Madani, stating she was a cult leader. Madani Ceus will also be tried for murder.
