It's something that's been bothering me ever since I moved to Grand Junction. We need to talk about the roundabouts in Grand Junction and now is the time.

Roundabouts were being implemented as solutions to any traffic problems where I moved to Grand Junction from. I only hoped moving would get me away from them and I was wrong. Now I live off of a street covered in roundabouts, aka the most annoying road in Grand Junction -- Horizon Drive.

I don't necessarily think it's a structural issue, I have no beef with roundabouts themselves. I just know that people don't know how to use them. I know this because I can see it almost every single time I use one.

Drivers are stopping at yield signs or worse, they're stopping in the middle of the roundabouts. This causes serious pile ups and confusion. (Just so we're clear, you're supposed to yield at yield signs and not stop in the roundabout.)

I'm not really sure what the solution is here. Maybe 'how to use a roundabout' should be included in all driving courses nationwide. It's not only Colorado drivers that don't know how to use, it's Utah driver, California drivers and more.

Or maybe we just need a diagram around each roundabout that shows you how to use it. I'm not sure but I'm sick and tired of worrying whether drivers are going to hit me or not while I'm driving through roundabouts. What's your solution to this ongoing issue?
