David Gilliland will start from the pole for tonight's Sprint Cup race at Daytona, leading what isn't exactly a who's-who of NASCAR racing at the front of the pack.

Bad weather forced the cancellation of the final two rounds of qualifying yesterday. That left Gilliland with the top spot, followed by Reed Sorensen and Landon Cassill.

Jimmie Johnson, who swept both Daytona races last year is starting fifth. Jeff Gordon starts the race with a 24-point lead over Johnson and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Earnhardt starts seventh, Gordon starts ninth.
