The top-ranked Colorado Mesa Mavericks took three of four from CSU Pueblo in a weekend series at Suplizio field that featured two of the nation's top teams.

CSU Pueblo, ranked #8/#9 nationally took the first game of Friday's doubleheader, but the other three games belonged to #1-ranked Colorado Mesa.

In game one of the series, Tyler Ehlers, in just his second start of the season, went 8 innings allowing just one run on three hits, and the Mavericks won 2-1

In the third game of the series, the Mavericks used a six run fourth inning to break open a close game, and went on to win 9-1.

In the series finale, the score was tied 3-3 before the Mavericks scored four runs in the bottom of the 8th inning and went to a 7-5 victory.

With the three wins, Colorado Mesa improves to 30-4 on the season, 22-2 in the RMAC and now have a three-game lead on CSU Pueblo with four weekends of baseball remaining in the regular season. If the Mavericks win the regular season title, they will host the RMAC tournament at Suplizio Field.

CMU is on the road for the next three weekends against Regis, Colorado Christian, and Metro State before closing out the regular season at home against Colorado Mines.
