Maryland is hoping a neighborhood advantage works for them against explosive Marshall in the Military Bowl today. The game is being played at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, just 29 miles from the Terrapins campus. The Terps are 7-5 and will be playing their final game as a member of the ACC before switching to the Big Ten next season. Marshall is averaging 43 points and 545 yards per game during their 9-4 season.

Minnesota takes on Syracuse in the Texas Bowl. The 8-4 Golden Gophers showcase David Cobb who rushed for 1,111 yards this season. Minnesota is looking to end a five-game bowl losing streak and record nine wins for the first time since 2003. The Orange sport a 6-6 record. The Syracuse defense ranks 19th in the country in tackles for loss per game.

The Fight Hunger Bowl features Washington against BYU in a meeting of 8-4 teams. The Huskies spotlight running back Bishop Sankey who was the Pac 12 rushing leader and third in the nation with 1,775 rushing yards. Washington quarterback Keith Price has completed 65.5 percent of his passes for 2,843 yards. His 20 touchdowns and five interceptions give him the best touchdown to interception ratio in school history. BYU quarterback Taysom Hill is a double threat. He ran for 1,211 yards and threw for 2,645, becoming the first BYU player and 23rd ever to reach 1,000 yards rushing and 2,000 passing in the same season.
