The old abandoned Value Lodge at 1st and White in Grand Junction is undergoing a major refit. In a few months, it will be home to veterans requiring assistance. Take a brief tour of the amazing transformation.

According to one of the members of the construction crew, a remodel is underway to transform this old structure into 40 one-bedroom apartments for veterans.

The old Value Lodge has spent years falling into disrepair. Many nearby businesses expressed their disenchantment with the dilapidated building taking up space at a relatively busy intersection.

I dropped by Monday, November 20th, to take a look. Crews invited me to take a walk around and shoot video. Armed with my dumb-phone, I captured video of the transformation taking place on the ground floor.

The project is estimated to take a year. With that in mind, crews figure they have a few months to go before the project reaches conclusion.
