The Dallas Stars need just one point out of tonight's home game against wounded St. Louis to clinch the final playoff spot in the NHL's Western Conference. The Stars moved to the verge of a post-season spot after Phoenix lost to Nashville last night.

The Blues are staggering into the post-season, with a season-high four straight losses. Recently acquired Ryan Miller was supposed to be the key piece to helping the Blues make a serious run at the Stanley Cup. But the goalie has struggled, giving up four goals in his last three games. He was pulled from last night's loss to Minnesota.

Colorado has moved into a first-place tie with St. Louis in the Central Division, with both teams a point behind Anaheim for the Western Conference lead. The Avalanche travel to San Jose tonight.

There are seven games on the NHL schedule.
