A Snapchat post was shared on social media last night (Feb. 20) mentioning a possible school shooting. Grand Junction's District 51 says no threat.

Concerned parents and students shared this Snapchat on Facebook last night warning others the social post was going around to students. The posts shared both stated authorities had been informed.

District 51 shared a message on Facebook Wednesday morning (Feb. 21) informing parents and students that they are aware of the apparent threat.

If parents are concerned about their child's safety, the district is leaving the decision up to them to send them to school or not.

Thankfully, this message was reported to the school district, area police and through safe2tell.org.
