From new terrain to new lifts to changes at lodges and snowmaking equipment, there are quite a number of changes you will see when skiing in Colorado this year.

Almost 500 acres of new terrain to ski as well as a brand new four-person lift, A-Basin is ramping up their game for the season. Also, a brand new alpine type bistro is opening as well, so you can enjoy Alpine type food. Arapahoe Basin is now open for the season.

The American Flyer lift has been replaced by a new six to eight-person lift dubbed the New American Eagle. Also new this year, Downhill Dukes, a dog-friendly restaurant with both human and canine treats!  Copper opens on November 16.

A brand new high-speed lift that will take you to the top in three minutes instead of the eight you were used to. Named "Chet's Dream" after Chester "Chet" Upham, Jr, a pioneer of Colorado skiing. Also new this year, bonus ski days for season pass holders. Loveland is now open for the season.

This Durango resort is offering a free pass to kids 10 and under called the Power Kids Season Pass. Parents can sign their kids up on Purgatory's website. And also new this year, a mountain coaster with a loop and a 300-foot drop will be open in the winter as well as the summer.  Scheduled to open November 17.

The resort spent over $30 million dollars this year on improvements to the mountain, including a new ten person gondola, ready to open in early December.

A brand new lift named the Charity lift after the former owner of the resort is set to open soon. The ski area itself opens on November 9.

All ski areas seem to be in the process of snowmaking with many more boasting new snowmaking equipment. This promises to be one memorable year on the slopes of Colorado.
