This summer there will be seven new inductees into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, including the first punter ever elected.

Longtime Oakland Raiders punter Ray Guy, whose booming punts were often unreturnable because of their hang time, was the first such specialist elected. Former Tampa Bay linebacker Derrick Brooks and offensive tackle Walter Jones were elected in their first year of eligibility.

The class of 2014 also included defensive end Michael Strahan (STRAY'-han), receiver Andre Reed, defensive back Aeneas (ah-NEE'-uhs) Williams and defensive end Claude Humphrey, who like Guy was a senior selection.

The announcement was made Saturday night at NFL Honors, less than 24 hours before the Denver Broncos meet the Seattle Seahawks in the first Super Bowl in a non-domed stadium in a cold-weather city.
