Today is the final day of business for this family-owned Grand Junction restaurant. It's time to say goodbye to Lois' Place, a popular Western Colorado breakfast and lunch restaurant for the last 28 years.

Before we get too far ahead, let me remind you the restaurant will be reopening in a month at a new location. New owners are taking over. I spoke with Pam and the rest of the staff at Lois', and it appears most, if not all, will make the move.

Have you been to Lois' Place? Almost everyone has. You'll find it at 241 Grand Avenue, Unit #2.

After 28 years, it's time for Lois and Bob to retire. They've had an excellent run. Some of the employees, Pam for example, have been there for well over 20 years.

I stopped by Wednesday morning. Just as I sat down, a choir came to serenade Lois. Do you see her hiding behind that house plant? She seemed a little embarrassed, but she got through it. As you can see, neither rain nor sleet nor choir can stop the hardworking staff at Lois' from pouring coffee and waiting on customers.

Thank you for 28 years of service, Lois. I've visited your place off and one for the last decade or so. Breakfast option #2 was always my favorite. Good luck to the new owners and the returning staff as they kick off the new location.
