DENVER (AP) — Colorado Rockies co-owner Charlie Monfort has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Police said Monfort was arrested late Monday in Windsor, about 60 miles north of Denver.

Monfort issued a statement apologizing to the team, fans and his family. He said he was "committed to do what's necessary to deal with my problems."

Dick Monfort, Charlie's brother and the chairman and CEO of the team, issued a separate statement saying he was saddened and disappointed. He said he was focused on helping his brother.

The Greeley Tribune reports Monfort was released from the Weld County jail in Greeley on Tuesday on a personal recognizance bond.
