Did you see Grand Junction's perfect rainbow yesterday? Sunday's evening rain resulted in one of the best rainbows, and for an instant, double rainbow, Western Colorado has ever seen.

Sunday evening, right about 7:00 p.m., a steady rain began to fall in the Redlands area of Grand Junction. Fortunately for me, I was right in the middle of a walk on the Audubon portion of the Riverfront Trail. The timing couldn't be better.

Equally fortunate, a ranger station located at the entrance to the camping areas offered a little shelter from the rain. As the rain began to subside, one of the best rainbows the valley has ever seen began to appear.

Armed with a dumb-phone, an excellent photo op began to avail itself.

Springtime is the perfect opportunity to hit this trail. Temperatures are civil, wildlife is abundant, and the scenery is awesome. When you least expect it, along comes something special like this.
