Colorado Avalanche forward P.A. Parenteau will miss at least four weeks with a right knee injury, coach Patrick Roy said Tuesday after a team workout.

Parenteau suffered a sprained MCL during a mid-ice collision early in an overtime win against Winnipeg on Monday. Parenteau has 14 goals and 19 assists this season.

The Avalanche also are missing forward Paul Stastny because of a balky back. He's expected to miss the game against Chicago on Wednesday, but Roy remains hopeful Stastny can play Friday.

The rash of injuries has forced Roy to tinker with his line combinations up front. The team recalled Brad Malone and Paul Carey from Lake Erie of the American Hockey League to add depth at forward.
