The National Hockey League trading deadline is at 3 p.m., Eastern time, today. There were a flurry of deals yesterday and many people in hockey are keeping an eye on the Rangers and what they do with captain Ryan Callahan. Will the two sides work out a new contract or will the Rangers send the winger to another team?

By the way, goalies have been the hot commodity so far as four were traded yesterday and since Friday six have changed teams.

There are just four games in the NHL this evening with the Rangers involved in one of them. The New Yorkers are home for a game with Toronto. The Maple Leafs have not won in Madison Square Garden since December 2011.

At the same time, in a Metropolitan Division game, the Flyers are hosting the Capitals. Each team is battling for a playoff spot as the Flyers start the day with 70 points and the Capitals 68. This is the final meeting of the season between the two clubs. They've split the first four encounters.

The Ottawa Senators are on the road for a game this evening in Calgary and in Anaheim the retooled Ducks are playing host to Montreal.

Despite the fact that Anaheim leads the league with 91 points, the Ducks were a busy team yesterday, pulling off three deals. They sent a conditional fourth-round pick to Dallas for defenseman Stephane Robidas (ROH'-bih-dah), shipped goalie Viktor Fasth (fahst) to the Oilers for a fifth-round and a third-round pick and acquired a fourth-round pick from the Capitals for forward Dustin Penner.
