The battle for first place in the NHL's Atlantic Division heats up tonight as the top two clubs are back on the ice. First-place Boston, which has 60 points, is home to the Maple Leafs, while second-place Tampa Bay, which has 58 points, is in New York to face the Rangers. Toronto, by the way, is just a point out of the eighth and final playoff berth in the East.

The overall leader in the Eastern Conference remains Pittsburgh, and the Penguins have the night off.

The overall league leader is Anaheim with 75 points, and the Ducks are taking a well-deserved day of rest.

Chicago's Blackhawks are second in the West and first in the Central, and tonight they are home to Colorado. The St. Louis Blues, who have 67 points, trail the Blackhawks by three in the Central Division.

The rest of tonight's schedule has San Jose skating at Washington, the Sabres are home to the Flyers, New Jersey is at Montreal, the Islanders are playing the Panthers in Florida, Calgary has as game in Nashville, the Wild are home to Ottawa and Edmonton is at Dallas.
