Due to its extreme popularity, the past couple of years, the Navajo arts auction is returning to Grand Junction on April 7.

The Museums of Western Colorado will host the auction at the Whitman Educational Center at 462 Ute Avenue.

Featured at this fundraising auction will be a variety of Native American art products from weavers, potters, katsina doll carvers, jewelry makers, and Native artisan dealers and traders.

Most of the pieces being auctioned off are contemporary Navajo, Hopi, or Zuni. However, often times antique rugs, pots, or baskets can be found at these auctions.

There is no charge to attend the auction which begins with a preview of items at 9 a.m. on April 7, with the auction starting at noon. Approximately 250 items will be auctioned off.

The auction is being conducted by Bruce Burham and the Burnham Trading Post, which has been a trader to the Navajo for over 40 years. They conduct auctions like this throughout the country.

Here's your chance to pick up some authentic Native American art pieces for your home or office and support the Museums of Western Colorado.
