Rain is playing havoc with today's schedule at Wimbledon everywhere except under the closed roof on Centre Court.

That's where Rafael Nadal has recovered from a slow start with a Kazakhstan player who's never won a match at the All England Club. As he had in his first two matches, Nadal lost the opening set — this time in a tiebreaker. But he broke Mikhail Kukushkin's serve twice in the second set to win 6-1 and has won the third set by the same margin.

Also on Centre Court is French Open winner Maria Sharapova (shah-rah-POH'-vah), who scheduled to play American Alison Riske, and Roger Federer who takes on Santiago Giraldo of Colombia.

Rain first delayed the start of play on side courts for nearly two hours. But play only lasted about 15 minutes before rain began falling again and the covers were placed back on, suspending 16 matches and forcing others to be called off for the day.

Sunday is a scheduled off day.
