The Anaheim Ducks can improve on their one-point lead over San Jose in the NHL's Pacific Division tonight.

While the Sharks take the night off the Ducks are playing host to Edmonton. In the standings the Ducks are tops in the Pacific and second in the Western Conference with 106 points while the Sharks have 105. St. Louis, which tops the West with 109 points, has the night off.

The top team in all of hockey is on the road tonight. Boston, which leads the Eastern Conference with 110 points, is playing at Detroit. The Red Wings are battling for a low-seed playoff spot. They have 84 points, one more than Columbus, which resides in eighth place in the East.

In the West the Coyotes are tied for the eighth and final playoff berth with 85 points. They share that spot with Dallas and tonight while the Stars rest up, the Coyotes are going to be playing in Los Angeles.

The final game of the night has the Islanders playing the Senators in Ottawa.
