There are working families in the Grand Junction area that need help, but don't qualify or want to ask for assistance because they feel others need it more. These people aren't looking for a handout, but a hand-up holiday.

HOPE of the Grand Valley needs your help to make Christmas happy for these struggling families. The organization has been bombarded by requests for assistance from families who have nowhere else to turn because they aren't able to receive any other assistance.

Often, these hardworking people who are already barely making ends meet, think they can pull together a few extra dollars for Christmas. When they can't, they're forced to ask for assistance.

HOPE of the Grand Valley is asking individuals and families in the community to 'adopt' one of the qualifying families who need some extra help during the holidays.

Hope of the Grand Valley is an organization who's mission is to give people 'a hand-up not a handout by fostering and encouraging independence and self-sufficiency for low-income families.'

To adopt a family for Christmas, call Hope of the Grand Valley at 970-778-4880 or view adopt-a-family information on their website.
