In the early hours of Wednesday morning, a scary incident took place involving a person that committed a hit and run, followed by a police chase leading to two more hit and runs where the suspect eventually fled on foot.

The incident began at around 2:30 am when police spotted a minivan that had backed into a parked car on the 400 block of Colorado Avenue in Grand Junction, then fled the scene. Officers followed the minivan, whose driver was determined to evade the police which led to a high-speed chase down Colorado Avenue.

Police eventually stopped pursuing the hit and run suspect, where following the chase the minivan's driver ran into another parked car, flipped onto its roof hitting yet another parked car.

As of 10:24 am Wednesday morning the suspect has not been caught. Because of this, the motives for the suspect to flee from the police are unclear.

Luckily, it does not appear that anyone was hurt because of the incident, although police are unaware of any injuries suffered by the minivan driver. For now, all we know is that three vehicles, including the minivan, suffered property damage.

This incident is certainly not something you want to hear about happening in your town, but because it occurred at 2:30 am, fortunately, not many people were out compared to if it would've happened during the day.

Furthermore, it's unclear whether drugs or alcohol were involved, if the car was stolen, or if the suspect fled from police simply because they committed a hit and run.
