Authorities are responding to a four-acre fire near South 21 1/2 Road in the Glade Park area.

The fire currently burning in the Glade Park area was caused by a lightning strike that was being monitored around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, according to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office. Glade Park Fire and the MCSO are currently responding.

There have been three fire retardant drops made in the area by one of the single-engine air tankers which has helped stop forward progress of the fire.

According to the MCSO, this is one of 10 fires caused by lighting in the last day.
