Two Bull Elk have been killed near The Rocky Mountain National Forest during the rutting season. These beautiful Elk were killed their heads sawed off and their bodies left to rot. It is illegal to hunt in the Rocky Mountain National Forest.

Park rangers do not know if these two incidents are related but need your help with finding the predators.

According to park officials, thousands upon thousands visit the park and take pictures of these bulls, and now so many people will be deprived of viewing these beautiful animals because of the acts of poachers.

The first poaching park officials believed happened during the night of Sept. 11 or the early morning hours of Sept. 12.  Officials found the carcass on Trail Ridge Road near Milner Pass.

The second incident happened on the night of September. 21 or the early hours of September. 22 near Ute Crossing Trail south of Forest Canyon Overlook.

Park Rangers from the Rocky Mountain National Park are urging anyone with information to come forward. You can text or call the National Park Service at 888-653-0009 you can also call Operation Game Thief at 1-800-332-4155. If you see anything suspicious report it.
