A national children's clothing retailer is set to close 350 stores across the country. Sadly, the Grand Junction location is on the list.

The Gymboree store at Grand Junction's Mesa Mall is one of the hundreds of stores set to shut down. This comes as part of the retailer's attempts to restructure its bankruptcy.

According to USA Today, the San Francisco-based company will initiate their closing sales on Tuesday.

Gymboree operates a number of other stores, including Janie and Jack and Crazy 8. After the 350 stores are closed, the company will still have more than 900 stores in operation.

Today's announcement represents the next step in the Company's court-supervised financial restructuring as we work to more strongly position the business for long-term growth and success." - Daniel Griesemer, CEO of Gymboree

This comes as sad news for those of us who purchase children's clothing. I don't have young children, but most of my friends do. Gymboree at the Mesa Mall made it very easy to shop for kid's clothing for birthdays and holidays. The selection was great, prices were reasonable, and they always offered great promotions.

Thank you, Gymboree, for your service to the valley. Shopping your store has been a pleasure.
