Another downtown Grand Junction business is saying sayonara. After more than 20 years of service in downtown Grand Junction, the iconic store will be riding off into the sunset come March.

Mike Allen, the owner of Toys For the Fun of It at 519 Main Street, says it's time to move on. According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, Allen plans to close the store by the end of March.

Why are they closing? What could be more fun than selling toys? According to the Daily Sentinel, Allen's decision to close is due entirely to financial concerns. Allen has piled his savings into the store, but spending trends are making it impossible to keep the doors open.

Shopping patterns have changed. It's more difficult to make a profit these days. It's time for me to find what else is out there. - Mike Allen in the  Grand Junction Daily Sentinel

Unfortunately, Toys For the Fun of It is one of several downtown stores to announce their departure over the last 12 months.
