It's about to get easier to fly across the country from Grand Junction.

Anyone who has flown in and out of Grand Junction is well-aware of the challenges of a small-market airport. High costs, limited flight options, and a small number of direct flights are some of the factors that cause Grand Junction travelers to consider making other travel arrangements.

Starting June 8, Grand Junction Regional Airport will be offering non-stop service to and from Chicago on United Airlines. Though airline fares widely fluctuate, the United Airlines website shows a roundtrip airfare on June 8, nonstop to Chicago as $588 - slightly cheaper actually than other flights with one stop.

The Chicago destination will complement the airport's other non-stop offering including Denver, Phoenix, Dallas, and Salt Lake City.
