The Colorado Mammoth lacrosse team says the equipment of its starting goaltender was stolen two days before a playoff game, but another team has come to the rescue.

Dillon Ward's gear was stolen from outside his Denver home Thursday, and the team is set to play the Calgary Roughnecks in the West Division Semifinal of the Champion's Cup Playoffs on Saturday. National Lacrosse League goaltenders typically own only one set of gear.

Steve Govett, the team's president and general manager, says "I've been in the league for 20 years and this is a first. I don't know who, in their right mind, would want smelly lacrosse goalie gear."

The Vancouver Stealth has offered to loan a set of its gear to Ward.
