Dave Bradley shares five creative Valentine's Day date ideas for residents of Grand Junction, Colorado. Including painting, Netflix, hiking and more.

#1 - The Palette

The Palette is probably one of the coolest dates available in Grand Junction. The idea is that you and your date get to drink, and paint, while an expert teacher shows you how to do it! This is a fantastic way to get out your creative side and accomplish something together!

#2 - Live Music

There is nothing more romantic than listening to love songs, performed live, together. There are several events going on in town on Valentine's Day, throughout Grand Junction. I’ll most likely be supporting my good friend Shea Bramer, who will be performing live at The Rockslide Brewery that night. Either way, come out and experience some good vibes together!

#3 - Get A Room!

Seriously though, a lot of local hotels are offering really great room packages, and they always throw in a little something extra! You would be surprised how nice a Staycation can be! Check out places like The Doubletree or The Springhill Suites, as they will most likely be offering some great Valentine's Day packages.

#4 - A Netflix Date

I know this sounds simple, but sometimes the simplest ideas in life are the best. If you don’t get a lot of quality time together, or you don’t have a lot of extra cash (after the holidays that are completely understandable) this is a great way to spend time together. Find a recipe for dinner and dessert that you can cook together, and then find some movies you both agree on and love via Netflix (or Amazon Prime, or Redbox, just take the time to slow down and watch something together for goodness sake!). I suggest a comedy, laughing together is a great way to release endorphins in each other’s presence.

#5 - A Valentine's Day Hike/Picnic

Last week, our friend Shea Bramer posted about some great hikes in the area, perfect for a Valentine's Day picnic. This is another inexpensive, yet romantic option for your Valentine's Day. Yet another way for you to release endorphins in each other’s presence.

However, you choose to spend your Valentine's Day, make sure it is creative and that you spend quality time with your significant other.

Quality doesn’t mean expensive, it means you’re both giving one another your full attention and you’re doing whatever you do, together.
