Yes, you could watch games on TV. Then again, you can get out and play. Have you considered lending your expertise and experience to coach and officiate for young players? How about being an instructor?

    Adult Softball Scorekeeper

    $10.20 hr

    According to the city's website, recommended experience includes playing or scorekeeping any level of softball/baseball.  Scorekeepers are required to participate in all required training.  Hours vary from 3 to 12 per week depending on schedule. Applicant must be able to work weekday nights and some weekends.

    Adult Softball Umpire

    $18.50 per game

    Recommended experience includes playing or umpiring any level of softball/baseball. Umpires are required to participate in on-field clinics and must participate in all required training. Hours vary from 3 to 12 per week depending on schedule. Applicant must be able to work weekday nights and some weekends. Umpires must furnish their own uniforms. Season:  April – October. Pay rate: $18.50 per game, one umpire system.

    Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.

    Lifeguard

    $10.71 - $11.53 Hourly

    Okay, it's not exactly coaching, but lifeguards are essential. According to the website, applicants must have or be willing to obtain a valid Ellis & Assoc. International Lifeguard Training Program certification by attending ONE of the following training classes offered March 12-16, April 13-15, or April 27-29. Successful candidates must possess a minimum of 20/25 or 20/25 corrected vision and be free from permanent abnormalities of either eye. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the training course. Lifeguards can expect to work 20-40 hours/week during the summer season and, if selected, may work 15 – 20 hours/week during the fall and winter. Most lifeguards will be trained and expected to teach swimming lessons as well.

    Seasonal Sports Official

    $10.20 - $15.00 Hourly

    The title seems a bit vague. What does this job entail? Recommended experience includes playing or refereeing any level of football or basketball. Referees are required to participate in on-field clinics and must participate in all required training. Hours vary from 3 to 12 per week depending on the schedule.     Are you looking for a part-time, 4-14 hour-per-week gig? Recommended experience includes teaching, coaching, or playing high school or college level tennis.  Additional training is provided. Applicants must be available to work Monday and Wednesday mornings and evenings.
