You've been hearing about this Colorado trail a lot over the last six weeks. Recently, a double amputee made the climb. Shortly after, I was inspired to check out it. This Sunday, June 10, 2018, you should check it out, too.

What are the chances you could get over to Colorado Springs this weekend for the "Butt Scootin Boogie"? Have you heard of Manitou Incline? It's been called "Colorado's Craziest Hike."

On April 23 of this year, Mandy Horvath became the first female double amputee to complete the climb. We're talking about 2,744 steps. Well, she's going to do it again, except this time, she plans to keep going. Mandy is planning to go all the way to Pikes Peak. If she makes it, she'll be the first female double amputee to climb all the way to the top of one of Colorado's tallest peaks.

How will this unfold? If you would like to support Mandy on this adventure, make your way to Pikes Peak Harley Davidson on June 10 at 9 a.m. for a birthday party. From there, she'll make her way to Manitou Incline.

If you would like to get Mandy something for her birthday, she does have a wish list. I checked it out. For the most part, the list consists of climbing supplies and Snickers bars.

In addition to celebrating her birthday, this event will raise funds for two organizations close to Mandy's heart. Donations will go towards The Battle Buddy Foundation and Operation Ward 57. Why does she do events such as this to support these organizations? Her answer, "To help others in hopes of easing their burdens."

Mindy's climb inspired me to check out Manitou Incline. Last April I made the drive over the mountain and gave this hike a shot. It was at least twice as difficult as I thought it would be. Here's a glimpse of my last few steps.

Here at the studio, we're very "event" heavy as we prepare for Country Jam. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend her send off. If you have a little time this Sunday, perhaps you could represent Western Colorado and give this young lady a proper sendoff.
