The first camp-able Colorado state park is in Salida. You can either bring your RV or tent/trailer and camp at Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area this Labor Day weekend.
Crawford State Park is about an hour and a half away from Grand Junction. This Labor Day weekend you could camp here in your RV or tent/trailer.
