Welcome to the big time, Crested Butte. Vail Resorts went shopping at bought the ski resort plus three others.

The $82 million purchase of Triple Peaks LLC includes Colorado's Crested Butte, Okemo Mountain Resort in Vermont and Mount Sunapee in New Hampshire.

An additional $155 million will be spent to pay off leases on the three resorts held by Ski Resorts LLC. Vail Resorts is also spending $67 million to purchase Stevens Pass Resort in Washington state from Ski Resorts LLC.

With the purchase, Vail Resorts will now own five ski resorts in Colorado including Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Crested Butte, Keystone, and the state's largest ski resort, Vail Mountain, which has over 5,200 skiable acres.
