Damien is a high school student in Denver who needs a kidney transplant.

Damien suffers from focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) which damages the filters inside the kidney, and he needs a transplant.

The good news is he is near the top of the transplant list.

The bad news? Because he is a foster child and has gone from foster home to foster home he has no permanent address, and that could keep Damien from getting the life-saving transplant.

Enter Damien's teacher, Finn Landing.

Having heard from Damien he wouldn't be returning to school because of his illness, his teacher decided to stop looking the other way and made a life-saving decision for the young man.

He's going to adopt him.

Doing so will let Damien maintain his place on the transplant list and could possibly save his life.

Damien also has special dietary needs, and this has put his teacher in a rough spot because he has difficulties getting the food he needs. So a Go Fund Me page has been set up to help defray the costs he has had to shoulder.

We will keep you posted when Damien has his procedure.
