Colorado Ranked 8th Fastest Growing State in the Union
Findings from the new U.S. Census show Colorado to be the eight-fastest growing state in the nation for 2017. This contradicts the popular belief that people are fleeing Colorado by the thousands.
According to the Denver Post, Colorado saw an increase of 77,000 residents in the last year, bringing the state's population to 5.6 million. While this may seem like a drastic increase, it is actually a reduction compared to the previous year. Last year, the state saw an increase of 90.000 residents. Maybe people are leaving.
According to the census, the states showing the most growth between July 2016 and July 2017 were:
- South Carolina
It appears the western United States has it going on. All but two of the states in the top ten are located in the western U.S. Take that, East Coast. Who would have guessed Idaho?
