Colorado Parks and Wildlife is hosting a winter fun day at Crawford State Park with ice fishing, skating, skiing, sledding and free food.

Winter Fun Day is Saturday, January 27, and will start off with a free ice fishing clinic from 9 a.m. to Noon. The morning starts with a free ice fishing seminar. Attendees will learn about ice fishing gear, lures, techniques, and a lesson on fish biology to better understand how to be successful when cold weather fishing before heading to the lake to fish.

At noon, the rest of the day's activities get started with a campfire, roasted hot dogs,  s'mores, and hot chocolate provided by Colorado Parks and Wildlife staff.

There will be special areas on the lake ready for ice skating and ice fishing. Off the lake, there will be a sledding hill and a designated cross-country skiing trail.

People attending should bring their own fishing, skating, sledding or ski gear. Those fishing are also required to have a valid Colorado fishing license which can be purchased at the event, if needed.

Crawford State Park will be charging regular admission that day which is $7 per vehicle for those who don't have an annual State Parks Pass.
