Colorado Mesa’s Baseball Receives Loss in Championship Game

Colorado Mesa University's baseball team gave it everything they had in the NCAA Division II World Series baseball game, but it wasn't enough as the Mavericks lost to Southern Indiana 3-2 in 12 innings.

Colorado Mesa took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning, and held that lead until the eighth inning when Southern Indiana tied the game. Southern Indiana scored their winning run in the top of the 13th inning.

Colorado Mesa University will have host a pep rally/welcome home event for the Mavericks at  12:30 p.m. Sunday at Suplizio Field, 12th Street and North Avenue in Grand Junction. The public is invited to attend.
