The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced Monday that Colorado Mesa University volleyball player Melissa Hess has been named this week’s Offensive Player of the Week.

Hess led the Mavericks’ offensive efforts this past weekend as the team swept both New Mexico Highlands and Western New Mexico on the road.

For the season, Hess is No. 4 in the RMAC in hitting percentage, No. 8 in kills per set, and No. 16 in blocks per set.

The RMAC also named Alex Winkler of CSU-Pueblo as the Defensive Player of the Week, and Rebecca Sponcil of Regis as the Setter of the Week.

Colorado Mesa’s volleyball team will close out the regular season this week when the Mavs take on Fort Lewis on Thursday (November 6) and Adams State on Friday (November 7). Postseason playoffs for the Mavericks begin next Tuesday (November 11) at Brownson Arena.
