The Colorado Mesa University Mavericks lost to the CSU-Pueblo Thunderwolves 34-6 Saturday at the Thunderbowl in Pueblo. The 3rd ranked Thunderwolves won their 29th consecutive RMAC conference game.

The Thunderwolves turned two Maverick turnovers into a 10-0 lead before the Mavericks got on the board with a 7 yard pass from Kyle Duran to Central High School graduate Blaine Jackson to make it 10-6 with 12:51 to play in the second quarter.

CSU- Pueblo led 17-6 at halftime and 20-6 entering the fourth quarter. The game was decided in the first three minutes of the fourth quarter when the Thunderwolves scored two touchdowns including a 56 yard scamper by Darius Millines. The Mavs were unable to capitalize on four Pueblo turnovers.

The Mavericks got 118 yards rushing from Jake Cimolino, and Palisade High School graduate Jake Edmiston, who leads the nation in tackles, was the leading tackler in the game with 17.

The Mavericks drop to 4-3 in the conference and 5-4 overall. They'll travel to Gunnison to take on Western State on Saturday before closing out the regular season at home against Adams State. CSU- Pueblo improved to 9-0, and 7-0 in the RMAC.
