The arrival of Spring means the Colorado big game application deadline is drawing near.

It's an exciting time for Colorado big-game hunters who will be entering the drawing process for limited licenses for public hunts, private-land only hunts, and Ranching for Wildlife properties.

Whether it be deer or elk -the popular hunting options -or bear, big horn sheep, mountain goats, or moose - the  application deadline is April 5. Hunters are able to submit one application per species with up to four hunt choices. Applications can be mailed to Colorado Parks and Wildlife or  the recommended method on line.

Any left over deer and elk licenses will be offered in a second chance drawing this summer prior to them being made available to the general public in August.

Over the counter big-game licenses will go on sale July 26.
