Colorado Mesa University senior Landon Vermeer was named the RMAC offensive player of the week for his performance this past weekend in New Mexico.

Vermeer, a senior guard out of Littleton, had the best weekend of his collegiate career averaging 23.5 points per contest against New Mexico Highlands and Western New Mexico.

On Friday night, Vermeer shot 8-10 from the field, including 5-6 from three point range to go along with 4-4 from the freethrow line enroute to a career high 25 points. On Saturday night, Vermeer still had the hot hand going 9-13 from the field and scoring 22 points against Western New Mexico.

Over the weekend, Vermeer hit 9 three pointers moving him into second place all-time on the CMU Career 3-point made list with 127, just ahead of Dwayne Horn's 126 (2001-2005) and behind the all-time leader Jeremy Cummings with 155.(2001-2005)

The Mavericks are currently in 5th place in the RMAC, 1/2 game behind CSU Pueblo. They have clinched a berth in the RMAC tournament.The Mavs visit Western State this Saturday, and then close out the regular season the following weekend against Adams State and Fort Lewis. Fort Lewis.
